Fitness First Personal Training is the real deal. Coming to John with specific and very challenging goals set for myself he was quick to offer a practical, affordable solution. John's technical knowledge of machines, equipment, and program structure was second to none. His dedication to your struggle for a better envisioned image of yourself made it easy to stay focused and keep striving harder and harder towards your goal. Program's never stagnated, your attention span will never wane. John continuously challenged me allowing me to expect more from myself. At all times John was friendly and receptive toward questioning and went out his way to offer nutritional guidance. It was clearly evident that John's prerogative wasn't just showing me an exercise and leaving me to my own devices. He would explain the reasoning behind it keeping me informed as possible. If I was not pursuing further education and life was ideal I would still be training with John. My personal belief is that a trainer is a valuable asset no matter your fitness goals and that one should be a regular component in your lifestyle. I would recommend John in a heartbeat.

I’ve been training at Fitness First for almost a year (Feb 2011-Dec 2011), and the results have been amazing. I’ve went from 27.8% body fat to 21% body fat, and lost 10 pounds of fat! I feel great, and I’ve noticed a huge difference in my physical conditioning. I never used to be able to run at all, and now I can run for 20 minutes straight without difficulty. My strength has also increased tremendously! John focuses on strength, flexibility and conditioning, which is a winning combination. All aspects of my fitness have improved, and I can now do things I never imagined a year ago.
John is an awesome trainer, and I couldn’t imagine working with anyone else. He listened to my needs, and crafted a program that was perfectly suited to meet my fitness goals. As time went on, the program became more challenging, and I started to really notice results. Whenever I had difficulty, John would customize exercises so that I could do them properly. He always made sure that I was challenged, and switched my routines on a regular basis. I would never push myself as hard as John pushed me. He was very motivating and made me realize my potential. He believed in me before I knew what I could achieve, and that allowed me to continue on and work harder every session.
John’s studio is very personal and I love the on-on-one attention. I can customize my music, take up lots of space, and ask all the questions I want. If I am ever unsure about anything, John is always very helpful in answering questions. Once, I was having foot pain in the back of my heels, and John taught me the exact stretch I needed to perform in order to improve my flexibility.
John also provided great advice regarding diet and nutrition. He helped me identify my diet challenges, and told me what I needed to eat to lose weight. He explained to me the importance of eating the right things at the right time. He provided food and supplement advice, and was always willing to answer diet-related questions. Without a doubt, the nutrition aspect of his program was just as important as the fitness part.
John has always been able to schedule me in at very convenient times. Whenever I am unable to make an appointment, John is understanding and accommodating. He has truly taught me that fitness can be worked into any lifestyle, and that being busy is no excuse.
I would highly recommend Fitness First to anyone looking to increase their fitness, boost their health, and improve their self esteem. The staff at Fitness First are amazing, and they really care about helping you attain results. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and motivating, and will give you what you need to achieve your goals!

I'm picky. I want a trainer to "get" me, challenge me and not put up with my stubborn Taurus crap. Enter Shanna. Shanna is dedicated to her clients in good times and bad. She let's me lift heavy weights, because they are fun but then holds me back when I over train during my running clinic and she has to piece me back together. She has put me back together a few times and I've learned that she is right and she cares.
Shanna has taught me so much about fitness and about myself. She continues to inspire me and help me reach my goals. She's patient when I don't deserve it and tough when I'm being my neurotic self.
Ok, she's so awesome I will share her with you. She's that good.
